My worldview is that everything happens for a reason and my goal is to learn from everything that happens. That is real to me and requires only acceptance, reflection and gratitude.Dangerous Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12442306921276302945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8760580232883116615.post-75240097514107870442011-10-05T20:50:38.361-04:002011-10-05T20:50:38.361-04:00Lots of thought provoking comments! Also, everyone needs feedback even negative feedback sometimes or we create an artificial world view. I think the important thing is to be intentional and thoughtful about how we communicate.Lynne Wattshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02788918458763274157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8760580232883116615.post-22926655302624737122011-10-05T08:57:40.746-04:002011-10-05T08:57:40.746-04:00This was a great post! The patterns of either positivity or negativity that we instill in our children in which they start to perceive the world, really can have a lifelong effect. We need to choose our words very carefully...and mindfully :)Jessica Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02450820269367184046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8760580232883116615.post-86516452827466683932011-10-05T03:54:18.064-04:002011-10-05T03:54:18.064-04:00Loved this post.... feedback's are necessary a...Loved this post.... feedback's are necessary and more so positive ones. But, with kids...you have to be strict when needed and lenient also and explain to them why the situation called for such a behavior from you. But it should be done sincerely, not as a kind of bribe. About the ratio, it sounds a bit like the compliment sandwich technique for coaching - putting the negative feedback between slices of positive feedback. I'm not sure I really like it. I think if you care enough, people will know when you're giving them feedback - it's not negative - it's feedback.Corinne Rodrigueshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00127426375705808776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8760580232883116615.post-47443674654422166822011-10-04T23:42:47.944-04:002011-10-04T23:42:47.944-04:00I focus on staying positive and encouraging, with ...I focus on staying positive and encouraging, with kids and grown-ups in my life, so I don't have to worry about how many positives it will take to balance out my negative behavior.

When raising my own kids I developed the discipline to always ask myself "WHY" if I was about to say "NO".
