It's Christmas Day and here at the Watts' house we have certian traditions that we follow.  We all LOVE food and there are some incredible cooks among us so we start with a scumptious breakfast, which we vary a bit year to year.  This year we had a special Christmas blend coffee, ham, spinach and mushroom frittata, roasted potatoes and Hayley's famous whole wheat waffles.  It was a wonderful feast but really  the most fun was planning it and cooking together.

After breakfast we open presents.  Over the years we have downsized a bit but one thing that has stayed the same is we always have a family outing as one of our gifts.  Most years we give each other movie tickets and later in the day we all go together and see a movie.  It is a fun and together way to end the season.  This year, we decided instead to get tickets to OVO the Cirque Du Soleil show that is currently in town.  We will all go together tomorrow and everyone is really looking forward to it.

Having family traditions is an important part of our identity as a family.  It creates a legacy of memories and enhances  family relationships.  It is the glue that holds the family together not just during holidays but the rest of the year as well.  What about your family?  What glues your family together?  What is the legacy that you are creating?
