Lessons in Celebrating Differences in Children

One of the my yearly guidance lessons for each class is on the topic of recognizing how each person is different and special in their own way.  As part of the lesson, I always emphasize the following concepts:
  • The importance of recognizing that people are alike and different in many ways
  • The importance of celebrating  individual strengths
  • The importance of accepting another's differences
  • The importance of not teasing or making fun of someone
This year, I will also be using the book, One of Us by Peggy Moss.  I wrote about the book previously here:  Helping Children Belong Blog post   In addition, I discovered this video as a great visual to use along with this lesson. You're going to love the message...

The latest Wyatt book is almost ready for publication!  It is on the topic of giving or generosity.  Want to download a copy of the book for free, even before it is published?  Visit the website and sign up on the free book tab.   www.wyatthewonderdog.com
